(At Mira Costa) I didn't spend much time at
all with anyone. I I spent most of me time working full-time as a pin
setter at Redondo Beach Bowling Alley. I played sax in the marching band,
so I didn't spend too much time socializing at football games.
Carleen Weeding was a drum majorette so she
is about the only person I remember. I remember she and I went to
school together all the way from kindergarten through our senior year in
high school.
Upon graduation, I joined the marine corps and was in long enough to
retire in 1977.
In April 1961, I married Grace Moe who
graduated from MCHS in 1959.
On retirement, I moved to Cortez, Colorado
and became a deputy sheriff. Two years later, a new sheriff was elected
and fired all the deputies and brought his own people on board.
I spent the next 20 years as a long haul
truck driver. That job broke up my family because of so much time away
from home.
I remarried and my new wife wanted to
learn to drive, so we became a team for the next 10 years.
We retired after that and we are now living
the quiet life in Apple Valley.
